Thank you and your “team” for all their hard work on the sale of my home contents!
You all went above and beyond to make it successful! You were so organized and
put my mind at ease in making a difficult process go smoothly!
Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your service in holding my estate sale. After living in our beautiful home for 25 years moving was very painful, however you and your wonderful staff helped me get through and even made the whole process easier. I would recommend you and your service to anyone I know. You made moving out of my 5,000 sq foot home manageable and even profitable.
I can not thank you enough.
Received from customers on the buying end:
You run a real class organization Brenda
and I just wanted you to know this. When we stand in line even waiting in the
freezing cold for your sales, the mood is always upbeat because the customers
really like dealing with you. Just wanted you to know this as I think it is a
real balancing act between representing the seller and the potential buyers. Arnold S.
Brenda! Thank you for the email update. I have attended many of your
sales and I wanted to compliment you on your excellent marketing
efforts. Really, your calls and emails are thoughtful and helpful! Have a
great day and hope to attend another sale soon. Theresa N.
From my sellers:
I couldn't let any
more time go by without thanking you for the amazing job you and your
team did running my house contents sale. I could never have imagined
that the process would go so smoothly. From the moment you came in to
set things up, through the last moments of the last day, I felt secure
in knowing that everything was run extraordinarily professionally. I
couldn't have been happier with the sale results, and your
recommendation for the final clean-out was perfect.
I have passed your name on to my Real Estate broker and to others who
were impressed by your company. Add me to your reference list at any
Mounif and I can't thank you and your fabulous staff enough for orchestrating
such a great moving sale. When we knew that we had to move in just a few short
weeks, we were totally overwhelmed with what needed to be done. However, you
and your staff carefully assessed the situation, and within a very short time,
you assured us that everything could be done in a timely manner. It was nothing
less than a miracle! You turned our nightmare into a workable reality.
You have extremely able assistants who do not only the physical work but put our
minds at ease. The sale was a huge success... That now even leaves us
sufficient time to go on a previously planned vacation to Aruba in the midst of
all of this that we were certain that we would have to cancel!
It was an absolute pleasure working with you and your staff. Thanks to all of
you again for everything, and you can can be sure that we will highly recommend
you to friends and family!

Just a note to thank you for running such a
successful estate sale for us. Over the past 26 years, we accumulated
more "stuff" than I ever dreamed possible. Yet you and your team
managed to sort through it all, display it, price it and, most
importantly, sell it! You and the gals were an absolute pleasure to work
with, and certainly helped reduce the stress associated with such an
The final outcome certainly exceeded our expectations, and I would recommend The Real McCoy to my friends and family.

They took such good care of us and our
stuff and spent weeks in preparation for our 3 day sale.
When it was all over, we had sold over 5
rooms of furniture and hundreds of items both large and small.
Our neighbors commented on how professional
they were and that they made you want to buy.
It was truly a priceless experience as
well as financially beneficial.

My sister and I would like to thank Brenda for all the hard work she did
for our mother's estate sale. We arrived in New Jersery from CA and TN
respectively and had only one week to dispose of 56 years of
"treasures". We contacted Brenda and okay I begged a little but she was
well worth the begging. The sale came together in record time
professionally and we personally enjoyed being part of it. I don't know
what we would have done without her. I highly recommend The Real McCoy
to anyone contemplating an estate or house sale. Brenda treats you and
your "treasures" with respect. You will not be disappointed.Kitty Garacia
Thank you so much for all of your assistance in the estate sale at
33 Cresskill in Dumont. We really appreciate your kindness and
understanding as well as your professionalism. One of the most daunting
aspects of Edward's move was the fact that the house was five levels,
each totally loaded with stuff accumulated over more than 50 years.
When I thought of the time I would have had to spend in New Jersey, away
from my family and my job, just to clear it all out, I was
overwhelmed. We were completely relieved after we met with you and you
agreed to take on the job. It was very comforting to know that the sale
was in such capable hands even though we were out-of-state. You kept
us fully informed as to the progress of the clean out and sale via phone
and email so that it did not feel that we were half a country away! We
were grateful for your realistic appraisal of the items that
were fit for sale, as well as those that were not. Your ability to
market the sale in order to maximize the value of the many, many, items
in the house was most impressive. You were somehow able to perform a
miracle and make a profit on items which I thought were unsellable! You
did everything that we were not able to do ourselves and then some!
Additionally, I cannot thank you enough for dealing with our family
situation. I know that sometimes estate sales can be very complicated
for a family, bringing to light old issues and differences. Ours
certainly did, but you took a complicated family situation and handled
it with discretion and tact, which was most appreciated.
Thank you very much for all the hard work of you and your wonderful staff!

From: culturedbohemianblogspot.com 5/19/11 Jennifer Goldberg Levey:
I unexpectedly found an estate sale run by Brenda Hogan Devereux and her great team from The Real McCoy!
I love that name, by the way! Everyone on Brenda's team was friendly and very
helpful. I'm pointing that out because you have a lot of people walking
in and out of these sales, and overseeing all the activity, in my
opinion, can be stressful! I am waiting on line with these buyers and I
know whereof I speak! These shoppers can be brutal and a professional,
alert, and composed estate sales team deserves a lot of credit. Not only
do they have to constantly keep a watchful eye on people wandering
around the house, but they also carefully pack up your purchases and
help you to your car! Thank you, Real McCoy !

pottery, primitives... One recent house had 150 years worth of
merchandise, from three or four generations."
She said she covers all of North Jersey and has worked in homes of all ages.
"We had a sale in a Montville
house that belonged to a senator in the late 1800s," she recalled. "It
had 35 stained-glass windows and woodwork to die for. It was a chance of
a lifetime, to see and work in it. We sold parlor sofas, pottery,
glassware and wrought-iron garden furniture."
Some of the
biggest bargains that have passed through her hands lately were
paintings and sculpture, as well as linens and quilts from the Victorian
era. "You couldn't make those today," she said, "but they were
ridiculously cheap. I price everything to move."
A Buyer's Market
Devereux admitted that in the past two years she has lowered her prices sharply.
"When I see
certain types of furniture aren't moving, I reduce them," she said.
"I'm also affected by the Internet, because the market is flooded with a
lot of items. I price below eBay, because a lot of people buy to

dealers. Homeowners, though, are usually just "looking for anything that
fits into their décor."
